What Is the AKC Fit Dog Program?
The AKC Fit Dog Program encourages dog owners to participate in fitness activities that support healthy, active lifestyles for both dogs and people. The program includes walking requirements and structured events that contribute toward earning an AKC Fit Dog Bronze, Silver, or Gold Title.
One of the approved activities is participating in a community fitness walk — like the AKC Turkey Trot hosted by K9 Fluent Professional Dog Training, LLC.

Who Can Join?
All friendly, leashed dogs are welcome! You do not need to be a current K9 Fluent client, and the walk is beginner-friendly for handlers and dogs of all training backgrounds.
Tips for a Successful Turkey Trot
- Bring a 6-ft leash (no retractables)
- Make sure your dog is wearing a secure collar or harness
- Pack poop bags and water
- Dress for the weather — Utah Novembers can be chilly!
- If your dog is nervous, our trainers are here to help support and guide you
